Recall petitions and voter intimidation

Accused Councilmember Yokoyama of confronting business owners circulating recall petitions, calling it voter intimidation and election interference, and said he was berated by phone for over an hour.

Called Yokoyama's alleged conduct an abuse of municipal power, cited Election Code prohibitions on petition interference, and distributed cease-and-desist letters to the council.
